Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Consultant Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join a leading healthcare institution in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal, hepatic, and nutritional disorders in infants, children, and adolescents.

The successful candidate will play a key role in providing comprehensive pediatric gastroenterology care, including advanced diagnostic evaluation, medical management, and appropriate endoscopic procedures. This position offers the opportunity to work within a progressive healthcare environment alongside pediatricians, surgeons, dietitians, radiologists, and multidisciplinary teams.

Skills Description

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage infants, children, and adolescents with a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions
  • Manage common and complex pediatric GI disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, GERD, functional gastrointestinal disorders, and malabsorption
  • Evaluate and manage pediatric liver and pancreatic disorders
  • Assess and manage feeding difficulties, nutritional deficiencies, and growth-related concerns
  • Perform and interpret appropriate gastrointestinal investigations
  • Perform pediatric upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy where appropriately qualified
  • Provide comprehensive pre- and post-procedure patient care
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessment, investigations, and patient needs
  • Monitor treatment response and adjust management plans accordingly
  • Collaborate closely with pediatric surgeons, dietitians, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical case discussions, and service development initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives
  • Support teaching, training, and departmental education activities where required

Qualifications

  • Board certification in Pediatrics with fellowship or subspecialty training in Pediatric Gastroenterology
  • Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or an equivalent recognised qualification
  • Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Pediatric Gastroenterology
  • Extensive experience in managing complex pediatric gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions
  • Experience in pediatric gastrointestinal endoscopy is highly desirable
  • Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP
