Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Consultant Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon with expertise in Foot & Ankle Surgery to join a leading healthcare institution in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the management of complex orthopedic trauma, with advanced expertise in foot and ankle injuries, reconstruction, and surgical management.

The successful candidate will play a key role in providing comprehensive orthopedic trauma care, including the assessment and surgical management of acute and complex foot and ankle conditions. This position offers the opportunity to work within a progressive healthcare environment alongside orthopedic surgeons, emergency physicians, radiologists, physiotherapists, and multidisciplinary teams.

Skills Description

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and complex orthopedic trauma cases
  • Provide surgical and non-surgical management of orthopedic injuries
  • Manage complex foot and ankle trauma, including fractures, dislocations, and soft tissue injuries
  • Perform surgical fixation and reconstruction of foot and ankle fractures
  • Manage complex and high-energy lower-limb trauma
  • Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative patient care
  • Evaluate and manage complications related to orthopedic trauma and previous surgery
  • Perform reconstructive procedures for complex foot and ankle injuries where appropriate
  • Collaborate closely with emergency physicians, radiologists, physiotherapists, and other multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in trauma meetings, multidisciplinary case discussions, and clinical conferences
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and service development initiatives
  • Support teaching, training, and departmental education activities where required

Qualifications

  • Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery / Orthopaedic Surgery
  • Fellowship or subspecialty training in Orthopedic Trauma and/or Foot & Ankle Surgery
  • Recognised Tier 1 specialist qualification, including ABMS, Canadian Royal College certification, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or an equivalent recognised qualification
  • Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialisation experience in Orthopedic Trauma
  • Significant clinical and surgical experience in Foot & Ankle Trauma
  • Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP

Required Skills

  • Extensive experience in orthopedic trauma surgery
  • Strong expertise in Foot & Ankle Surgery and trauma
  • Expertise in the management of complex foot and ankle fractures and dislocations
  • Experience in fracture fixation and reconstructive orthopedic procedures
  • Strong knowledge of lower-limb trauma and complex orthopedic injuries
  • Ability to manage challenging trauma cases and post-traumatic complications
  • Strong surgical judgement and clinical decision-making abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary trauma teams
  • Commitment to patient safety, surgical excellence, and continuous quality improvement
